The story behindLEAD Pass.

Chris and Tom first met while working together at Kean University and quickly became great friends. Their shared passion for basketball, coaching, and helping others has remained at the heart of their friendship ever since.

As Chris began transitioning out of college coaching to prioritize his family, he and Tom started thinking about the next generation of basketball players. They recognized that while the youth sports market was booming, there was no franchise truly owning a child’s first basketball experience. It was from that idea that the concept of hosting intro-to-basketball classes for toddlers was born.

But their vision went beyond creating a great experience for young athletes and their families. Chris and Tom both understand firsthand the financial challenges that many part-time college coaches face, who often need some form of supplemental income in order to continue chasing their dream of coaching college basketball. They recognized that they had once been in the same position themselves, and wanted to create an opportunity for coaches to keep doing what they love while building greater financial stability. With this, Chris and Tom want to target D3 college basketball coaches to run their toddler basketball classes.

As they began searching for a platform to manage registrations for their programs, they completed demo after demo, but found that nothing quite fit what they needed. It was then that they decided to build an app of their own. That decision became the foundation for LEAD Pass.

While developing the platform, Chris and Tom recognized another need they had both experienced firsthand. High school coaches and small college programs often lack the time and resources needed to efficiently manage camps. With this in mind, they created an app that would provide coaches and small athletic programs with the necessary items to make running sports programs more efficient, which, in turn, allows them to run more camps and earn more money.

Everything we do is guided by what LEAD stands for: Learn. Empower. Aspire. Develop. These principles shape how we operate, how we serve others, and how we define success. LEAD Pass was created because Chris and Tom aligned under these morals and are building products all under one umbrella that enrich other people’s lives, including customers, users, employees, and more!
